Early days…
"Lee and I met at a local pub back in 2003 and exchanged numbers before arranging our first date," recalls Kerry. "The Pear Tree, a renowned country pub in Wiltshire, set the scene for that date. We were so relaxed and just hit it off, spending the evening chatting and laughing."
The proposal…
"I later proposed to Kerry on a romantic weekend away to Cardiff, where I'm originally from," says Lee. "We were getting ready to go out for dinner and it was on our hotel balcony that I surprised her by dropping down onto one knee and asking her to be my wife." "I had absolutely no idea," Kerry recalls. "I was really shocked but so happy. I said 'yes' straight away. We were then late for dinner as I had to phone everyone to tell them!"
The venues…
Ston Easton, was the first venue we visited. After seeing some others, we just knew it was the place we wanted to hold our special day. We could have exclusive hire of the venue and host our whole day there, plus, we always wanted to get married in a grand country hotel. Its main room really fitted in with our theme and colour scheme and felt extremely special, we wouldn't have changed a thing about it.
The dress…
I instantly knew this dress was the one I tried on nine wedding dresses altogether, but this one made me feel so beautiful, unlike any of the others. It was the simplest but most elegant of them all and I had an instant feeling it was right for me. "I bought my own outfit but hired the best man and ushers' ones. We wanted suits rather than traditional formal wear to fit with our modern theme. Originally we all planned to wear black but I changed to grey halfway through the planning and loved the final choice." - Lee
The decorative touches…
We wanted a simple yet elegant look for our reception and as the room at Ston Easton is so grand it needed very little decoration. Our centrepieces were made up of green and white hydrangeas, arranged in tall vases and we used lots of large green candles together, along with white tea lights to give a romantic feel.
